UDYAM Registration is the official process to register your business under the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME). It gives your business recognition and access to various government benefits and schemes.

Any business classified as a Micro, Small, or Medium Enterprise (MSME) including proprietorships, partnerships, LLPs, private limited companies, or startups should register under UDYAM to take advantage of government incentives and protections.

While it’s not legally mandatory, UDYAM Registration is strongly recommended for all eligible MSMEs to access subsidies, schemes, priority in tenders, and protections under MSME laws.

As per the latest government definition:

  • Micro Enterprise: Investment ≤ ₹1 crore, Turnover ≤ ₹5 crore

  • Small Enterprise: Investment ≤ ₹10 crore, Turnover ≤ ₹50 crore

  • Medium Enterprise: Investment ≤ ₹50 crore, Turnover ≤ ₹250 crore

Only basic documents are needed:

  • Aadhaar number of the applicant (proprietor/partner/director)

  • PAN card

  • Business details including address, bank info, NIC code, employee count, turnover, and investment figures
